We provide opportunities for young women interested in journalism

Inspire women to pursue journalism

Although journalism schools are typically heavily female, this is not the case in many newsrooms. Our purpose is to inspire women all around the world to pursue journalism and address the powerful social stigmas that prevent women from speaking out.

Our Mission

Offer resources for young girls

For young girls, journalism represents everything that they’re told not to do: speak up for themselves, advocate for change, and bring their own ideas to the table. I believe there are young girls out there who wish to voice their opinions, and this platform offers them the resources to get started.

Cover stories of women that have been silenced

Often, women are silenced from speaking out against issues like stigmatization, sexism, physical assault, and inequality. Women understand other women, and are more willing to cover topics that tend to be overlooked by those in power. Having more women in newsrooms will ensure justice for underrepresented female voices.

Protecting the safety of women

Every day, there are crimes committed against women that fly under the radar as a result of powerful cultural and professional stigmas that prevent women from speaking up. Having more women in journalism will ensure that more women get the platform and justice they deserve.

Reporting the success of other women

In a world where most professional careers are dominated by men, including journalism, there is an innate bias that contributes to the content that journalists produce. Women are still underrepresented in many unprofessional fields, not because they are unqualified but because there are not enough women to report their success. Having more women in journalism will even the playing field.
